From Sherlock Holmes' debut in Arthur Conan Doyle's A Study in Scarlet to the BBC's Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch, this course explores the adventures and many incarnations of one of the best-known, most-loved characters in all literature. We will be reading selections from the original stories and novels, as well as sampling film and TV adaptations, pastiches, parodies & more. Several scholars and historians will be visiting our class asll, either in person or via Skype.
