As Assistant Professor of English at Northern Virginia Community College on the Woodbridge Campus, Indigo teaches both College Composition I and II as well as an occasional literature course. She returned to Virginia after a thirteen year absence during which she lived in Oregon, Mexico and Guatemala, and California. After two years teaching at Blue Ridge Community College in the Shenandoah Valley, Indigo relocated to NVCC Woodbridge where she is a permanent faculty member in a division deeply committed to student success, engaged teaching methodology, and freedom of expression. Outside of teaching, Indigo serves on the Virginia Community College System Open Educational Resources (OER) Leadership Team, The Northern Virginia Review Board, and the Woodbridge Adjunct Evaluation Committee.
