Rosemary Pinney is  a Ph.D. student in GMU's Writing and Rhetoric Program. She serves as a senior writing instructor at the Sherman Kent School of Intelligence Analysis, where she draws upon her 25 years as an analyst and manager in the US Government to teach analytic writing, critical thinking and creativity, as well as reviewing and coaching analytic writing. Rosemary's research interests at GMU revolve around the concept of empathy, its implications for writing pedagogy, and its potential to help negotiate difference to create learning spaces where more just social relations can take root. She approaches her work through the lenses of feminist rhetorical theory as well as theory of narrative and peace thought.
